Later, head to Marera View Lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation. Tarangire National Park is located 115 km from Arusha, covering an area of 2,800 square kilometers. The park’s name comes from the Tarangire River, where wildlife gathers for water. Day 3: Tarangire to Ndutu, NCA – Afternoon Game Drives in Ndutu
After a hearty breakfast around 8 AM, depart for the Ndutu region, approximately a 3-hour drive from Karatu. As you drive, you’ll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), witnessing the landscape transform from hilly forests to vast green grasslands. Upon reaching Ndutu, embark on a game drive with a picnic lunch stop. The sweeping grasslands of Ndutu transition into the Serengeti, home to six big cat species: leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval, and wildcat. The day’s game drive concludes around 5 PM, followed by dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Days 4-5: Ndutu, NCA – Full Day Game Drives in Ndutu
Amazed by the previous day’s migration sightings, you’ll have another opportunity to witness the stunning wildlife spectacle. Ndutu, part of both the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offers a full day of game drives following the migration depending on its location. Each day ends with a hearty dinner and restful overnight stay at your chosen accommodation.

Day 6: Ndutu, NCA to Central Serengeti – Afternoon Game Drives in Serengeti
After breakfast, travel to Serengeti National Park, navigating the vast, open grasslands. The name “Serengeti” means endless plains in the local language, and the sight of grasslands merging with the sky is breathtaking. The Serengeti supports Africa’s greatest concentration of plains game, and lookout for the iconic Serengeti “Kopjes,” large granite boulders providing habitat for diverse flora and fauna. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day’s game drive, returning to your accommodation for a delicious dinner and restful night.

Day 7: Central Serengeti – Full Day Game Drives in Serengeti
Following breakfast, set out for a full day of exploration in the Serengeti. The park, covering 14,763 square kilometers, is home to the annual migration of around 2 million wildebeests. Picnic lunch will be enjoyed during the day’s drive, concluding with dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at your accommodation.

Day 8: Central Serengeti to Karatu – Morning Game Drives in Serengeti
After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive in the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater. The drive to the crater rim, approximately 75 km away, will take about 2.5 hours, with opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way. The crater is one of Africa’s most impressive geological features and a haven for wildlife. End the day with dinner and a restful overnight stay in your chosen accommodation.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater Tour (5 Hours) to Karatu
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater around 6:30 AM. This is the world’s largest unfilled volcanic caldera, spanning about 260 square kilometers and dropping over 2,000 feet deep. Enjoy a 5-hour game drive on the crater floor, observing a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions. After a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool, ascend back to the top, followed by a 2-hour drive to your accommodation in Karatu. A delicious dinner awaits you upon arrival.

On your final day, after breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lush acacia and mahogany forests set the tone for your adventure. The game drive continues until mid-afternoon, with a picnic lunch included. Look out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and blue monkeys.
